FULL GAME WITH PRE-CUT COUNTERS: The Guard keeps watch! The Imperial Guard at Eylau
Based on the concepts developed for ‘La Garde avance!’ (VaeVictis no. 161), ‘La Garde veille!’ covers the direct engagements of the Imperial Guard during the Battle of Eylau on 8 February 1807. The rules are those of the Jours de Gloire series, adapted to the scale of the battalion.
The game covers two scenarios, played on two separate maps. The first concerns the counter-attack by Imperial Guard foot grenadiers against the Russian columns threatening the village of Eylau and the Larrey field hospital. The second recounts the heroic charge of Colonel Lepic's horse grenadiers: ‘Heads up, machine gun fire ain't shit!’
